Author's Tea

 

I am hoping to see many of you tomorrow at our Author's Tea.  We will begin at 8:30.  I have told the children they are allowed to dress up if they would like (no jeans) but they should have a standard school attire change of clothes if needed for PE attire. We are excited!

Please also remember that Friday is Read All Day.  The students are allowed to dress up like a Dr. Seuss character.  They are also able to buy a Cat in the Hat hat for $2 or if they already have one they can pay $1 to wear it.

 Math Night at Publix: Thursday, Feb. 23 

 

Math Night at Publix this Thursday, February 23rd.  Stop by Publix on Cumberland Parkway anytime between 5:30 and 7:30 so your child can participate in a fun math activity with classmates and teachers. The class with the highest participation percentage will receive a class Ice Cream Party from Publix!

Publix is one of our wonderful Partners in Education.  We are so thankful for their support! (2451 Cumberland Parkway Southeast, Atlanta, GA, 770-437-7000)

 

TEASLEY'S PURPLE PARTY

Teasley Elementary School's Purple Party will be Friday, May 4 at 7:00 p.m. at the Vinings Club. This is the school's largest fundraising event sponsored by The PAWS Foundation. It's open to anyone in the community who wishes to support Teasley. There will be dinner, dancing, and a live & silent auction. Proceeds will go to enhancements in science education. Get your babysitters lined up now because this is Teasley's best night out! Tickets are $75 couple/ $40/single.  teasleypurpleparty@gmail.com for more information. 

 

Help us Celebrate Dr. Seuss's Birthday!!

Would you like to clean off your bookshelves? Students would you like new books?  Please join us for our book swap Friday March 2nd.

 

From February 20th to the 28th, bring in your gently used hardback or paperback books, age and subject appropriate, for grades K-5 to the library.  You may donate any number of books, however students may only receive one book.

*Your book must be in good condition with no tears, loose or missing pages, no writing, scribbles, or coloring.  You must have both front and back covers.

We will also be selling Dr. Seuss hats for $2 or you can wear your own for $1.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

First of all,

Teasley's FIRST Lego League team, The Robot Warriors, is competing for a chance to have their spoiled milk detection device professionally patented. Last year's winners of this competition visited the White House earlier this week where they demonstrated their invention to the President as participants in the 2nd annual White House Science Fair. Online voting will be one way this year's finalists are selected. Teasley is Going Green!

IMPORTANT DATE TO REMEMBER: FEBRUARY 16 @ 6PM IN TEASLEY CAFE

Have you heard, Teasley is going green! We have already gotten our classroom recycle program up and running, and we need your help to do more. Do you have a Green Thumb? Or do you have concern about your environment? We are looking for help with the following programs this spring:

• · Green Awareness Week March 19-23

• · Teasely Garden Programs…Coming Spring 2012

There is a message below from our Superintendent, Dr. Hinojosa, regarding the School Improvement Survey.  Please take a moment to read it and be sure to complete the survey.  You may have received a paper copy of the survey or you may complete it online, whichever you prefer.  Paper copies of the survey may be returned in a box marked in the front lobby or in the office.  I truly look forward to your feedback as we all work together to make Teasley the best it can be!!  Remember that the deadline is February 10, 2012.  Thank you so much,

A message from the Superintendent:


Cobb County School District is committed to providing quality education for all students.  Each school in the district has developed a school strategic plan to identify specific goals and activities that will address the unique needs of its students. 

Feedback from staff, parents and community members is important to the school strategic planning process. Your participation in School Improvement Survey will provide feedback about the quality of educational services and programs in our schools.

Your responses to the survey are anonymous. Results will be provided to the principals later in the school year and will be used, along with other information, to identify priorities for the school.

“Teasley’s Got talent”

 

Can your child sing…dance…do magic…or have some other unique talent?

If so, we want them to be a part of this year’s variety show! 

We are showcasing the very best of what our students can do to put on an amazing performance!

The students will have the opportunity to pick up permission slips starting the week of February 6^th outside my door.  Permission slips are due back to me NO LATER than Friday February 17^th.  Once we determine how many students are interested in participating we will decide on the dates for auditions and rehearsals. 

Permission slips will include a behavior contract for you and your child to sign.  This must be completed in order for your child to participate.  No child can participate without a signed permission slip.  If you have any questions please contact me at the e-mail address listed below.
