Lifetouch did send payment envelopes and if some of the students do happen to bring in payment prior to picture day it can be locked in the vault.  However, let's encourage them to only bring in money the morning of picture day.  Notices in your mailboxes are to go home tomorrow and order forms will be put in there to go home on Monday.

Tomorrow is the last day to bring in a book for the book sway.

I could not possibly be more pleased and proud of all of the students in my class as they presented in the Wax Museum on Friday.  Without a doubt, one of the best experiences of my career.

I have been asked to see if any parents would be interested in volunteering in the Media Center to check in and check out books.  If that sounds like something you could do, please let me know and I will pass the information on the Ms. Ivey.

We are out of notebook paper, pencils, and dry erease markers.  If you could donate any/all of these items the class would appreciate it.

We have gotten off track the past two weeks and are struggling to get back on it.  In order to do that, we will be having a 10 work A Word a Day vocabulary test on 3/5.  I am still undecided about a word bank will be provided.

Writing-Reports that were not turned in today will loose 11 points if presented tomorrow.  Points will continue to be deducted until Thursday, and then the grade will be an F.  Summary drafts should be completed in first person tonight.  This summary is the information that your student will present at the Wax Museum on Friday, the 24th.  Summary drafts can be done on index cards.

Math Night at Publix: Thursday, Feb. 23 Math Night at Publix this Thursday, February 23rd. Stop by Publix on Cumberland Parkway anytime between 5:30 and 7:30 so your child can participate in a fun math activity with classmates and teachers. TEASLEY'S PURPLE PARTY Teasley Elementary School's Purple Party will be Friday, May 4 at 7:00 p.m. at the Vinings Club. This is the school's largest fundraising event sponsored by The PAWS Foundation. It's open to anyone in the community who wishes to support Teasley. Parents, academic alerts went home with some students today.  Please review, sign, and return them to school on Tuesday.  As we progress through the year the material becomes more challenging, especially in math.  It is critical that students are reviewing their Math Journals nightly and preparing for all tests in all subjects.  Journal notes and study guides are provided to ensure that students can do well on the tests and learn the required standards.  PLEASE ensure that your student is prepared for all tests and quizes.

Also, the reports on the African American character.  Your student has had two weeks to prepare the report, has been given the opportunity to go to the media center for research, and large portions of the instructional day to work on these.  They are due on February 21.  In addition to the report the HOW! line organizer and a rough draft are required.  The long weekend will provide an opportunity for those who need it to get the report completed.  An outline explaining how the report should be organized was handed out and should be useful in successfully completing the report.

Writing- continue working on reports.  Parents, a great deal of time has been devoted to working on these at school, and will continue to be, but it may not be enought to complete the assignment by Tuesday.  Please make sure your student is on track to have a completed report with the graphic organizer and rough draft ready to turn in on February 21.

Math: I rescheduled the test for tomorrow because I wanted the students to have one more day of intensive review before taking it.  Please have your student review the Journal entry, "Review Notes: Mixed Numbers to prepare for the test tomorrow.
