The wonderful Teasley singers, the Treble Tones, will perform TONIGHT at the Smyrna Tree Lighting from 6:35-6:55, which is right after the Smyrna First United Methodist Church choir. They'll be in the community center. On Thursday, they'll sing at 7:00 in Vinings. From the Vinings Jubliee website: "The annual Christmas Tree Lighting is a Vinings Jubilee tradition. Every year the people of Vinings gather at the clock tower in Vinings Jubilee and celebrate the lighting of a Christmas tree that stands as a holiday centerpiece to the Vinings community. This year attendees will once again enjoy holiday music, pony and train rides, face painting and balloon twisting and will have a chance to get their photo taken with Santa. Vinings Jubilee merchants will be on hand as usual with lots of goodies to say thank you for your patronage this past year. This year’s lighting will take place on Thursday, December 1, 2011, from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the new Tower Stage. We hope to see you there!"
It's looking a lot like the holiday season at Teasley! The annual Angel "Tree" is up. This year, we are hanging all of the angels on our counseling bulletin board in the front lobby of the building. Thank you for stopping by to pick up an angel!
Step 1: Choose an angel.
Step 2: Sign out the angel on the clipboard.
Step 3: Purchase the gift.
Step 4: Wrap the gift (and attach the angel!).
Step 5: Return the gift to one of the counselors, Ms. Strother or Mrs. Harris, by Wednesday, December 14.
Step 6: Enjoy the holiday season!

Congratulations to the talented Second Grade students, to the dedicated Second Grade teachers, and to our wonderful music teacher, Mrs. Mungin, on a phenomenal evening at Teasley! Last Thursday, almost 40 military veterans were honored at the Veterans Celebration. The veterans were family members of Teasley students, family members of Teasley faculty & staff, and guests from the community. The students sang patriotic songs, danced with flags, and provided factual information about our flag, the history of Veteran's Day, and America's journey toward independence. It was a truly wonderful evening!
Two local organizations benefitted greatly from the efforts of Teasley families during the recent Food Drive. Over 400 items were donated! Half of the items were donated to Cobb and Douglas Community Services Boards (www.cobbcsb.com), and the other half of the items were donated to MUST Ministries (www.mustministries.org).
Families who would like to receive help during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season (or ANYTIME during the year) can contact MUST Ministries Day Services in Smyrna, 460 Pat Mell Road, Smyrna, GA 30080, 678-218-4501 (ask for Holly Casey). The MUST Ministries Day Services in Smyrna provides food, clothing, and Education and Employment Assistance.

A huge thank you goes to Teasley parent Elizabeth Anderson for orchestrating the Food Drive, contacting the organizations we helped, and sorting all of the food on the stage!
Our wonderful head custodian, Mr. Gayle Johnson, helped the kind MUST volunteer by transporting the heavy boxes and huge barrel to the MUST truck outside. Thanks, Mr. Johnson!
Thank you to everyone who generously donated boxes and cans and bags of food to the Food Drive!
P.S. When our Lost & Found is full, we return items to children by looking for names written inside. We want to give our Teasley kids every chance to reclaim their lost items before donating them. If there is no name inside, we can't return it! When we've done all we can do, our custodians bag up the items and donate them to MUST. Since the MUST truck was already here to pick up the food, the volunteer took the bags of clothes, too. The two bags and all of the hanging items you see in the photo below were donated.
(Parents, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE put your child's name in his or her jackets, sweatshirts, and coats AND on his or her lunchboxes!!!!!!)
Recently, the First Grade and Kindergarten students had the opportunity to dress up as a character in one of their favorite books and parade through the halls! Students and teachers in the upper grades lined the hallways as the younger students walked by, proudly displaying their costumes and the corresponding books. Check out some fun photos below!
