It doesn't seem possible that we are on the down hill slope of summer. The custodians have about six days left of stripping and waxing floors. Teachers have been calling to ask when they can get into their classrooms to set up for next year. I'm busily getting back to school folders ready for staff members and planning for the professional learning sessions.
If you've driven by the school, we have, at times, looked a bit like a war zone. The construction project is moving ahead quite rapidly. I have been amazed with how many workers are here and how much they accomplish each day. Of course, I am eager to have everything completed so we can settle in for the start of school.
I hope that everyone has had a great summer. Please make sure your children are reading every day. We don't want them to lose the critical skills they learned last year. Math facts are going to be more important than ever this year. Students will need to demonstrate fluency in knowing the math facts required for their grade levels. You might want to invest in some flash cards.
If you have new neighbors, who have moved in over the summer, please let them know about the following important dates. Registration for new students is Tuesday July 13th from 9:00-6:00. Parents will need to bring all the required documents in order to register. Meet and Greet is Tuesday August 3rd (5:00-7:00 PM) and the first day of school is Thursday August 5th.
