Things are gearing up for the start of school. The construction project out front is coming along with the new sidewalk poured and they are starting on the beautiful new canopy as I type.
Just wanted to make sure parents are aware of important dates that are fast approaching.
New Student Registration - Tuesday, July 22nd from 9:00-6:00 Registration for students new to Teasley. You can check the Cobbk12.org website for what documents you will need in order to register. We ask for a copy of your complete lease or current verification you reside in a house in our school zone. Two current utility bills with your name on them are also required. In addition, there are Georgia forms required that list immunizations and also proof of hearing, dental, and vision exams. If you plan to register a kindergarten or first grade student, please bring your child that day for a brief screening. Registration takes about 45 minutes.
Meet and Greet - Thursday August 7th at 5:00-6:30. Class lists are posted at this time in the cafe. You can also join our wonderful PTA ($5 for individual or $10 for family), get your Tiger Ticket for carpool riders, check on bus routes, register for ASP ($10 Fee), volunteer for committes, order spirit wear, visit classrooms, and other great booths.
First Day of School - Monday August 11th 7:50. Parking is always an issue on this day. Please allow extra time to park. There is plenty of parking at the church around the corner on Simpson Road. Once morning announcements are made at 7:55, parents are invited to come to the media center for a Welcome Coffee and Information Session. Also, please make sure your child's teacher knows what your child is supposed to do at dismissal time (Bus - what color, carpoor, or ASP). We want to make sure all children get home safely with minimum upset.
Open House - Tuesday August 26th (intermediate grades 3-5) and Thursday August 28th (primary grades K-2). These sessions (6:00 & 6:30) provide critical information about the curriculum, instruction, and expectations for each grade level and teacher. Children are invited to attend as it can be very beneficial for parents and students to learn the information together.
