Feliz Día de San Valentín (Happy Valentines Day). Children learned that in Spanish speaking countries we usually say "FELIZ DIA DEL AMOR Y LA AMISTAD" (Happy Day of Love and Friendship).
Kindergarten
Children created their own bookmarks that say "Corazón Feliz" (Happy Heart). They also created their own Sweethearts candies with a message in Spanish. They could choose to write: 1) Te amo - I love you 2) Besos - Kisses 3) Abrazos - Hugs
1st Grade
Students received a list of 11 Valentine words in Spanish. First they put the words in alphabetical order and then they tried to translate to English as many words as they could. Then they made Valentine's Day certificates. Each student wrote a special activity that they would like to give as a gift to a family member or friend. Examples: 1) Ayudar a cocinar - to help with cooking. 2) Lavar el carro - to wash the car. 3) Limpiar mi cuarto - to clean my room.
2nd Grade
The children wrote a message inside two hearts that united different people around the world. The messages could be: 1) Somos amigos - We are friends. 2) Somos unidos - We are united. 3) Somos felices - We are happy. 4) Somos corazones - We are hearts.
They also made their own Valentine's Day cards to give to family or friends with messages in Spanish.
3rd Grade
Students received a long list of activities that could either give your heart energy or take away the energy from your heart. First we all worked together translating all the activities to English. Many words were cognate words. Then they were able to work with a partner to decide which activities made your heart strong and which activities made your heart tired. The last step was to list in Spanish the activities that they liked to practice to make their heart healthy. They wrote these activities inside a heart cut-out.

The TEasley Variety show
“Teasley’s Got talent”
Can your child sing…dance…do magic…or have some other unique talent?
If so, we want them to be a part of this year’s variety show!
We are showcasing the very best of what our students can do to put on an amazing performance!
The students will have the opportunity to pick up permission slips starting the week of February 6th outside my door. Permission slips are due back to me NO LATER than Friday February 17th. Once we determine how many students are interested in participating we will decide on the dates for auditions and rehearsals.
Permission slips will include a behavior contract for you and your child to sign. This must be completed in order for your child to participate. No child can participate without a signed permission slip. If you have any questions please contact me at the e-mail address listed below.
Thank you!
