Hello All!
I hope everyone had a restful break!! I spent most of my time finishing the renovations on the new house. My husband and I finally moved in! Hooray!! We still have much to do, but hopefully we can get them done before the baby arrives! :)
We started a new theme in January - Winter Wonderland. I recently sent home the newsletter - sorry for the delay! This week we are reading The Snowy Day, by Ezra Jack Keats...and the kiddos are LOVING it! We are recalling information, learning thematic vocabulary, recalling events from the story, and even having "snow ball fights!" We are playing in shaving cream and twirling snowflakes in the air. We are having a blast!
Progress Reports were sent home last week. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to email me and I'll call you follow up! The kids are really doing great! And on our first day back (while it was a change from vacation), the kids did great! He fell right back into the swing of things!
Just a side note: Teasley ES is implementing a new policy on tardies. Tardies and Absences do not apply to our kiddos, however, the new rule for tardies is that if you arrive in the car rider lanes after the bell has rung at 7:50, then you must park your car and bring your child inside. This new rule has drastically changed the amount of tardies school-wide: from 50+ to about 10! I mention this to y'all because most of our kiddos are car riders. Due to the lack of parking, it seems that going through the car rider lane is the best option, however, when the kids get here early in the morning, we are waiting outside (rain, cold weather, etc.) for up to 30 minutes until the remaining kids arrive. So, I am asking that you please bring your child as close to 7:20 as possible. I know things happen in the mornings, and I completely understand. So, I always have my phone on me in the mornings (for this reason), so just text me saying you'll be late/sick/absent/etc. and we can at least get the kiddos in the classroom so they can get ready to start their day. Thank y'all for your understanding!!
