Hi parents! I want to share with you what we are doing in target this semester!
The 4th & 5th grades are beginning shark research this week. Each student has chosen a shark for their project. In the spring (after spring break and CRCT) each student will do a short report and also have another piece to go along with this. The ideas for projects were sent home last week. Don't worry about having this done soon, as it is not due for several weeks. I will require a rough draft of their paper in mid April.
2nd & 3rd graders are studying money. We will also have a short report later in the spring. I will le you know more when the time is closer.
My new 1st grade group has dived right in! We are doing fun activities including primary algebra and coming up with answers when there is no one right answer! This is very hard to grasp because they are used to looking for one correct answer.
I will be having an open house at the end of February. As soon as I okay the date with Ms. Mansfield, I'll let you know in the next couple of days. This is mostly for new parents to see what we do in target, but parents of all students are welcome. I'll show a Power Point and answer questions. I will post the Power Point on my blog in case you can't attend.
