Cool Website for Math Facts

This is a website we use in centers to practice our math facts.  We play the games called Alien Addition and Minus Mission.  You can set the facts to be more difficult by in the first few prompts or you can set the speed of the game to go faster or slower.  There are many more games on this site, but some target skill sets for upper grades.  This is a great site to mark under a favorites tab.

The kids also love this website www.starfall.com which many of them used during kindergarten.

Homework for Thanksgiving Week

We will not have a stapled homework packet for the week of Thanksgving.  Next Friday, your child will have a turkey sheet inside his/her green homework folder with activities and things to practice over the week long Thanksgiving break.  These activities are optional but they will give your child something to do during those "I'm bored" moments that are sure to occur over a week without school.  This also means that there will be no spelling test on Thursday, December 3rd.

Big News

Your student may have told you, I am having a baby.  Please don't worry that I will be gone on maternity leave as the baby is due May 31st.  I will be here the entire school year, though I will be a little rounder by the last day of school.  My husband and I are very excited!

Food Drive

Teasley is collecting food for our Thanksgiving food drive.  All first graders are asked to bring in peanut butter or jam/jelly.  Let's work together to help those who are not as fortunate.  We have so much to be thankful for this season.
